Dr. Matt DeJongh to Join Faculty
Dr. Matt DeJongh has accepted an appointment to the Hope College faculty
as Assistant Professor of Computer Science beginning Fall 2002. Dr. DeJongh
received his Ph.D. in computer science at Ohio State University where his
major was Artificial Intelligence and his minors were Computational Theory
and Cognitive Science. His most recent position was as a Senior Software
Engineer at LION Bioiscience, formerly NetGenics, Inc. In that position
he developed server and client components of an enterprise-wide distributed
bioinformatics system for collaborative analysis of genomic data and conducted
research on the representation and exchange of ontologies in the life sciences.
In addition to his degrees in Computer Science, Dr. DeJongh has an M.A.
in Theological Studies from Winebrenner Theological Seminary and spent
eight years in campus ministry at Ohio State.
We welcome Matt, his wife Kim, and their four children to the Hope College
Computer Science family.
